Brittany Adolph's October 26th perfomance at Miracles by Faith Church.

On October 26th at 10:00 a.m. I was given the opportunity to perform one of my poems at Miracles by Faith Church in Baton Rouge, LA. The pastors of this powerful ministry are husband and wife; Dr. Carla and Kevin Gaines. Miracles by Faith is a wonderful church, so I was elated when I had a chance to come and share my poetry! The members of this church are well-known for their sincere disposition, so when I was given a standing ovation I took it as an true honor.

"Love is..."

Love is patient, love is kind.
Love is unselfish, love is blind.
Love is soothing, love excites.
Love is confusing, love egnites.
Love is crazy, and sometimes vain.
Love is wise, love is pain.
Love is faithful, love is clear.
Love is afraid, love is fear.
Love is supportive, love is there.
Love is tolerant, love does care.
Love is gentle, love is sure.
Love is true, love is pure.
Love is withstanding, love secures,
Love is loyal, love endures.

What is Love???

What is love??? This is a question that most people find themselves pondering about more and more as time passes. Now when I talk about love I don't mean that "I like you and you like me" or a "i'm really fond of you" type of love...I talking about true "Agape love! Agape love is an unconditional love. Its the type of love that is motivated by emotions that are so strong that they over look the physical. Its the type of love that accepts any inperfections that we may have in life. Its the type of love that looks deep and doesn't just fade away with time or over grow old. In today's world many people have forgotten about this type of TRUE LOVE! There are still some examples of this type of love out there, but it would be great if there were even more. As a writer and poet who strives off of the truth and life's aesthetics I appreciate those who have shown me this type of love. I always knew that love conquered all things but I went a little deeper. A few years ago as a child I sat down and really thought about the definition of love. I read my bible and I was inspired back then to write the following little poem.

The Destiny I Must Fulfill...

Since i was conceived I have received what seems to me a higher purpose. Years have passed and all I've grasped is probelms and issues up to my head. Animosity is a possiblity I refuse to except as my story. I'd rather write than fight yet still I spare with what is far beyond my control. I try to keep the faith but time and time again I wait for my saving grace. They say the world is mine but once again i find its axles turn still burn my inner fire. And i've tried praying but yet the rains drain couldn't possibly drown the pain. The mental strain is same, lifes troubles i've tried to tame. Your mind is my canvas, my life I paint with colors that are much to faint. Your picture can't visualize the complex mixture of particular hurt and confusion. Keeping my head toward the sky, trying not to let life pass by the destiny I must fulfill. Please Lord will you reveal the purpose that you have sealed, sign it Lord, deliever it to me, it is mine. But until you send, mediate on Romans 8:10 and wonder when, try to sin my day will come soon. I must confess I still stress when you said you would do the rest all I can do is keep faith in you.
